About the IT Support Technician Role

This IT Support Technician job in Halifax is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving technical problems across a wide range of systems.

You will play a key role in delivering reliable IT services, including:

Providing second-line IT support via phone, email, and remote tools
Resolving issues with Microsoft 365, Windows systems, hardware, and networks
Supporting user accounts, onboarding, and email configuration
Installing and maintaining desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
Managing support tickets and documenting solutions clearly
Assisting with cyber security, patching, and system monitoring

This is a varied and hands-on position offering exposure to multiple technologies and client environments.

IT Support Jobs West Yorkshire – What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have:

Previous experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or service desk role
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365
Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPNs, routers)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and customer service abilities

Experience working within a managed service provider (MSP) or holding certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or ITIL would be advantageous.

Location & Working Hours

Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire (office-based with occasional onsite visits)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (shift rota between 8:00am – 6:00pm)
