James Bulley
Managing Director
How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as hard working, motivated, reliable. My first job was working for my father, building industrial pressure washers on a Saturday morning and during the school holidays. I’ve always had an interest in computers, but when I got my first computer (a ZX Spectrum 48k) around the age of 10, I really got into PCs. My first very own PC I bought when I was 14 with the money I had earned whilst working for my dad and I haven’t looked back since. It’s been over 25 years that I’ve worked in this industry and over this time, I’ve seen technology changing significantly. I would say the one constant for me has been the value of the data and ensuring it’s backed up.
Hobbies & interests
Motorsport, the British Touring Car Championship, F1, skiing, live music, reading and socialising with friends.
Favourite holiday destination & type
French Ski Resorts, city breaks or scenic retreats. A long weekend in Porto would be great for a city break, whereas the Lake District or the Scottish Highlands would make a great scenic retreat.
Ideal weekend
Not getting up too early and going out for a long walk. Then relaxing with friends on a Sunday afternoon with a pack of cards and a few beers.
James Allatt
IT Technical Service Manager
I am the IT Technical Service Manager at Calder IT Ltd, responsible for managing technical services and ensuring smooth company operations.
I have worked in IT for 17 years, starting as a parts engineer and progressing to a 3rd Line support engineer. CalderIT brought me on to enhance the company’s knowledge of Microsoft 365 products. Throughout my IT journey, I have developed a strong history in technical roles, which has since expanded to being very customer-facing and helping manage the day-to-day tasks at CalderIT. My focus is on providing our customers with best-in-class IT support and solutions.
Outside of work, I live a nonstop life with my family. We all play inline hockey, and my son and I also enjoy playing ice hockey. Additionally, I run a Manchester-based inline hockey team called Lions Inline Hockey Club. You can usually find me at an inline or ice rink when I’m not working. During my downtime, I love spending time with my family and attending a few gigs each year with my wife.
Favourite holiday destination & type
I don’t have a specific favourite holiday destination or type, but in 2024, we took our little boy to Lapland over Christmas. This trip quickly became one of my all-time favourite holidays, as Ellis had a smile on his face the entire time we were there.

Alex Sugden
Senior Support Consultant
I was born and raised in Halifax, and I enjoy working for Calder IT – I’m the Senior Support Consultant
I have worked in IT since 2017 and at Calder IT since 2022. I enjoy the variety my role offers me, and it means I have a good knowledge of the different services and solutions the business offers. I hope to continue learning and expand my role and responsibilities.
I love playing football, darts, and especially golf—which I picked up more seriously in 2024. I’m slowly improving, though not without plenty of frustration. I’m a regular at the gym and occasionally hit the trails for a run. When I’m not staying active, you’ll find me reading books or watching classic films and prestige TV.
Hobbies & interests
One of my main hobbies is tinkering with my personal PC seeing how I can improve it. However, another hobby that I am getting back into, and that few people know about, is training in mixed martial arts.
Favourite holiday destination & type
I love city breaks, but my most memorable holidays have been in the Alps – skiing in winter or hiking, cycling and paddleboarding in the summer. Nothing beats ending an active day with some lovely food, a few beers and a well-earned rest.
Harry Fielding
IT Technician
Hi, my name is Harry Fielding, I am an IT Technician from Halifax, West Yorkshire.
I am a hardworking and determined individual. This has been instilled in me from a young age and I believe is one of the reasons I have found a career in IT. I would say my role is the business is quite important, as a helpdesk technician I speak to customers daily and must ensure their problems are resolved efficiently and to the best standard.
My main hobby is being a dad to my daughter, outside of this, when I get the chance, I like videogames and tinkering with my desktop at home. One of my main interests is probably cars. No specific make or model, something with an engine is interesting enough to me!

Ideal weekend
My ideal weekend would consist of spending some quality time with my loved ones and having one or two slow-paced days where I can relax and unwind.
