phishing email

It has been brought to our attention that a particularly clever phishing email is doing the rounds, trying to get you to scan a QR code.
DO NOT SCAN the QR Code, this is not from Microsoft but a phishing expedition hoping to con you into sharing your information.
You can tell it is a phishing because (see highlighted area) it is not from an official Microsoft address. Unfortunately, they are counting on the recipient to feel a bit of panic at receiving an email alert about security and scan without checking its legitimacy.
If you receive an email that you think is dodgy, phone us to check, we are always happy to do so, and please share this information with anyone you think needs to know.
Phishing emails can be reported to Action Fraud (part of the UK National Cyber Security Centre) by forwarding it on to report@phishing.gov.uk
