Microsoft is adding the ability to start a Teams meeting through the addition of the Meet Now button in Outlook.
This update is due to land at the end of January 2021.
What will I need to start a meeting from Outlook?
You will need to have both the Teams desktop client and Outlook desktop client installed on a Windows machine. Then you need to make sure you also have the Teams add-in enabled in Outlook.
Once the update has been rolled out to your pc you should see a new Meet Now button in the ribbon of the Calendar Tab in Outlook.
Clicking on the Meet Now button will launch the meeting in Teams client.
